Tbh ditch the Scoop! It's theoretically the worst bat for pickup IMO.

Really, my Scoop picks up lovely! One of the better picking bats for it's size hat I've ever had. Have you got one that picks up crap?

Want this as my match bat this year. Just a shame it's an ounce or so too heavy.

ll the responses to the thread have certainly made me laugh.

With the scoop, possibly more than others, I'd suggest the pro approach, and by that go to GN as they at least know the bat and the prices are OK.

The suggestions that others have made will all help pickup and increase weight.

Your other alternative is sell this one and buy a lighter one...?
If you want to have a go at reducing weight you can but you will probably affect rebound and pickup, and not necessarily well...

^ Why not just go to PDC who can replace and give lighter one for FOC?

That's always an option though pdc may not be that helpful depending on what you ordered. Don't ask, though, and you don't get...

Well I ordered a Scoop from them, came in 2.11 whereas I ordered in 'Light' weight, contacted them they send ship us back. They covered international postage up to £40 but in my case it was £60ish so they just said we'll refund you shipping and 10% so can't complain :)

Hi all
I have been reading this thread with great interest, as right now I am in the same quandary with the L&W I purchased earlier this year.  I ask for a 2.7 and received as 2.8 3/4, which in most cases would have been ok.  But the bat is just so bottom heavy it feels more like a 2.12/2.13.  I can not see myself using it at all.

Having played about with lead tape I am now considering having the back reshaped.  The problem is, what if it comes back and I am still unhappy, I have just ruined an expensive bat?

What make the whole situation worse, is my good friend Rob received his L&W this week.  He asked for a 2.9 and received a 2.8 with a fantastic pick up, where as mine feels like someone has strapped a brick to the bottom of it.

My other options are to sell the bat, or try and send it back to L&W in NZ.

I really do not know what to do.

There is people other than L&W who can do a rebalancing of the bat.

If You are unhappy with what you have received you should go directly to Laver and wood. They are generally pleased to help and customer service is very important to them.

Tim
I have contacted Andy when I received the bat, he was very understanding.  Maybe I will drop him an email later.

I wouldnt advise in having weight reduction done on a scoop.

for me you have 3 options...

1) send it back and get a replacement
2) sell it on the forum
3) use it, i'm sure you'll get used to the different pick up. if not see option 2
