In theory players wood ought to be better but value for money the GM+ is the way to go. If you can dig around for a slightly lighter than normal bat you could get a great stick. The + range normally starts at 2'12 upwards but 2'11 versions exist. The icon+ I have is 5mm bigger on the edge and similar on the spine compared to a normal Icon.

I would go for a players edition as the wood will be superior as they are very hard to find clefts that will make his bats.
That bat in the pic is one that I believe was repaired as be likes to use a bat till it dies if he likes it

Aren't cleft for Players Edition an Original LE cleft prior to introduction of Players Edition models?

That one pictured must've been repaired as the scuff sheet goes up higher than the standard GM fitting
