Outdoor Net
« on: April 03, 2012, 11:32:26 AM »

My club is planning to invest on an outdoor net this summer. The plan is to make a permanent structure on the side of the ground. Due to financial constraints we are looking for local resources as an alternative instead of buying a specialized cricket net from UK.

Would appreciate, if experts here can help with the following:

1. What would be the appropriate dimension for one net?
2. What could be an cheap alternative of the cricket net ( mesh ).

Thank you!

Have a look at the 3D site, which will give you ideas about net sizes

http://www.3dgroundequipment.co.uk/osb/itemdetails.cfm/ID/Wooden-Single-Net-&-Pole_39

The net area probably needs to be 40 yards long to allow space behind the batsman, to allow the bowlers a decent run up, and to allow the people wating to bowl space to stand safely.
