I bought some genuine Kookaburra stickers from an Indian eBayer, they had taken a picture of the real thing and then sent fakes. The problem with buying these is that your paypal money will be gone before you get the stickers, if indeed you ever get them and then paypal will not be able to refund the money as the sellers account will be closed.

Well if they are fake and have been advertised as genuine payPal have no option but to refund your money whether the account is closed or not.

That's my understanding too if you buy from UK Ebay, you're fully protected regardless of whether the seller still has an account or not. https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/ua/policy_pbp-outside#pbp-policy

I'll find out if that's the case tomorrow, as I'm waiting on £220 from Paypal for an iPhone that never turned up.

I bought a bat that did not turn up and after being awarded the refund it took 17 days to get the money as Paypal told me the money had been withdrawn from the account and they had to try the sellers bank. It worries me a bit and you do hear many horror stories.

One of the reassons you hear so many horror stories is that the auction sites and payment people (read paypal) will try and blufff their way out of giving a refund. Generally caveat emptor does not exist and buyers have a great deal more rights than they are advised by many of these groups.
