Millichamp & Hall Distinction
« on: April 05, 2012, 03:38:26 PM »

I've had this M&H since halfway through last season. It had a protective cover on the face which was pretty much covered with marks so I decided to take it off. Taking it off too quickly it took off parts of the top lay of willow with it. Anyone got any ideas what to do?

I'm guessing most people would suggest sanding the face

bat looks still ok, you will need to sand the face/knock it again and oil/re-cover with scuff sheet

oooh! That looks nasty! Best thing for that is to sell it to me!  :D

Alternatively a good sanding, a tiny bit of oil and it will be as good as new....

Remember to always take the scuff sheet off by peeling across the face and not up or down it........no real harm done though, can be sorted very easily.. :)

anyone else thinks that it will need to knocked in again a little bit? I think that since some of the face is gone and you will sand it a bit more face will require atleast 15-20 mins with a mallet as well as oiling to ensure its protected against moisture...

it might need a bit, i guess it depends on whether he's going to stick another scuff on it really.....

Or sell to Pedals for 100 quids :D ;)

I don't think Pedal would mind the defective bat even if its unknocked, see how generous Pedals is  8) You will not find many buyers like him on forum  :D

Sanded it down for a bit and it's starting to look a lot better. I was going to sand, re-oil and knock-in, was just double checking as to anything else I could do
