Anyone thought about making their own scoop
« on: April 05, 2012, 04:43:09 PM »

Now I might be leaving myself open to a bit of pee taking, which I don't mind, but has anyone considered having a go at making their own scoop.

It's just that there seems to be some pretty skillfull bat makers or fledgling bat makers on this forum and I just wondered is there anyone considering it.

Personally I'm c.....p with anything wood wise but I've seen some good efforts by some on here

Scoop is patented. I think it might be a good idea to try but not sure about the legal issues..

Pretty sure GN aren't going to freak out about one guy making one bat!

Not thought about having a go at a scoop but been thinking about a 'modern' interpretation of a Dynandrive and how that could work/look!!!

Norb's made me one a few years ago, nice size and pretty much the same spec's as seen in the current incarnation as it was from a heavy cleft.

Our carpenter once scooped out a SH bat so we could use it for tennis ball cricket. The original bat was a bit heavy. It was more of a rectangular scoop than oval.

I've considered it but wondered how the scoop was produced. I remember seeing pics on here from GN. Looked like maybe routed out or something similar. Looked precise.  Im more than happy to give it a go if someone wants one.
