Helmet Badges in small quantities
« on: April 09, 2012, 10:37:12 PM »

Apologies if this question has been asked before, but does anyone know a supplier who could make our club badge into a helmet badge or sticker in small quantities?

Cheers

Been looking for someone to do this for a couple years....I've contemplated going to sewing classes haha. I got some iron on badges to stay on some of my old lids but don't want to risk messing up a brand new masuri :D

I've got exactly that problem, I don't want to make a mess of my new masuri wicket keepers lid, at least it's now available in maroon so the club colour is at least correct!

I had some stickers made up for plastic helmets for my club in February and used a company called Diginate, based in South London.  You can specify the shape, size, etc and do it all online.  The only thing you need is a high quality image file of your club badge.

It's a bit of a fiddle to design the badge online, in the end I just sent them the file and some instructions on what I wanted and it was all good.

I had only six stickers made up as a trial run, on square cut clear vinyl 50x60mm and they have been superb.  There is no minimum quantity and for the six I paid only £8 including postage.

The other option is emblemco.co.uk, who have a specific cricket helmet badge option which is a bit more expensive and there is a minimum order quantity.  I found them to be a bit too small for our badge design.

I'm not sure how any of these would work on cloth helmets, in theory if you get proper stickers they will adhere OK.

Just hack up some old club shirts or caps, that's what I did for mine.

very interesting - did you have to make the text white or was black ok, bearing in mind the dark background of the helmets?

For the stickers I had made up, the text was in white over a navy blue background, on top of a blue helmet.  The options on Diginate were for any colour choices you want, with a clear or white background.

If you went for a totally transparent background, the text would need to be in white or other bright colour, black just wouldn't show up properly

If I could be bothered to set up a photoshop account I would post a picture to show you.

Just to let people know, I spoke to emblemco and they only do badges for plastic helmets, as do Diginate, so my search continues!  It may have to be cutting up an old shirt and taking the badge off that for a DIY job!!

Have you contacted Gareth Bull on here (username garethjakebull? He runs Compare Your Kit, and is also involved with a company who do embroidery. I'm sure he can provide the service - MOQ and price would be the only sticking points I would presume. If small quantities are impractical he can probably give you an insight into why other companies won't do it either.

you could try this guy

Club Helmets

Many clubs want to replicate their professional counterparts. This can be aided by adding a standard club helmet to the club 'uniform'.

At Cricket-box we offer you the chance to have your club emblem embroidered on to the world famous Masuri helmet. Choose from navy, maroon, green and new for 2011/2012, black helmets as standard colours, in junior (up to 57cm no junior black), standard (58cm - 61cm) or large (61cm - 63cm) sizes. Helmets can be supplied with either stainless steel or titanium visors, or as helmets only (shell). Please note, unless otherwise stated all enquiries will be treated as standard adult helmets with stainless steel grill.

All we need is a high quality, digital image of your club badge (and DST file if available), and you can leave the rest to us.

A minimum order quantity of 6 helmets applies and a £30/£40 set-up charge may be applicable if no DST file can be provided to produce the embroidered club badge.

Updated 17/10/2011

Masuri have reduced the minimum order quantity for embroidered helmets to 6 and are taking orders throughout the Winter. Turn-a-round times are approximately 8 weeks.

If you need helmets quicker, Cricket-box can now offer Masuri badged helmets for a minimum order quantity of 6 helmets. Again a good quality electronic club badge image and DST file is required (set-up costs will apply if no DST file exists), to enable a badge to be embroidered and secured to the helmet by Masuri. The benefit of the badged option is that the turn-a-round time is reduced to approximately 3 weeks. West Indies helmets are badged.

Adult helmets with steel grill are £64.99 each (minimum order of 6, Can mix and match sizes and helmet type/grill)
Adult helmets with titanium grill are £99.99 each
Adult helmets with no grill/shell only are £51.99 each
Junior helmets with steel grill are £35.99 each

Discounts may be available for 14 plus helmets.

In addition to the embroidered helmets, Masuri now offer their famous helmets in Custom colours. So if you want PINK helmets, for example, these are offered at £69.99 embroidered with your club badge. Minimum order quantity is 10 with approximately an 8 week delivery time.

Further information can be obtained by e-mailing steve@cricket-box.co.uk or calling 01283 221177.

And remember..... Look like a team, play like a team.
