Bats in use in the County Championship
« on: April 16, 2012, 08:34:07 AM »

Those who have been watching the County Championship, what bats have you observed in use. I know there's been a lot of interest in the Scoop as used by a number of County pros, but I've noticed a lot of GM and Kook bats in the various pictures I've seen.

What do you think are the trends this season?

Matt Coles and his Willostix was a good sight for Kent...
I guess the smaller brands may be struggling to offer retainers/sponsorships?

Kookaburra R range seems to be popular

Seen some redbacks and then Brooks with his Ayrtek so the smaller brand seem to be getting a decent foot hold on the county circuit

A few years ago there were a lot more small brands around though - Warsop haven't got Foster any longer, de Bruyn has left Newbery and brands like WillowWizard had people using their kit. Mongoose cutbacks mean they no longer have the coverage they did either.

Great knowledge! Who were WillowWizard sponsoring? Bradders is a mate of mine, didn't realise he had a few boys kitted out - great news.

You'll probably have to ask Mr Rudolph!

Hell 4 Leather seems to be popular amongst the Kent boys this year. Not bad having Azhar, Davies, Shreck and Nash in the ranks.
