Contacting Redback
« on: April 16, 2012, 05:21:19 PM »

Hi guys,

Been trying to contact Redback to discuss a new bat. Had one reply through email which was about two weeks after I initially emailed him, replied and havent heard anything back since.

Have also tried the number on the website for the last week and nothing.

Didn't think it would be this difficult to spend money on a new bat! Might have to go somewhere else.

Can anyone advise on the best way to get a reply from Gary?

Cheers

If you can be patient enough then you're likely to get a great bat. Took me a couple of weeks and a few emails/texts/calls before I got my paradox but it's been well worth the wait. Used it in one game last year and a couple of nets in preparation for first game this weekend and it's brilliant.

I think the thing to remember is that he's a one man operation who probably gets very busy so in terms of customer service it's not like buying from a shop. If you really want a redback then stick with it and Gary will sort you out a great bat, if not maybe try one of the other brands on here as from what I've seen on here they're all offering good quality bats at good prices.

Thanks for the replies.

Will try and hold out until I get a reply because I really can't wait to get my hands on a redback! Have only heard good things about his bats so hopefully it's worth the wait.

Hopefully will get a reply soon.

Think I will do. Already sent him a couple of emails and rang him so didn't wanna come across as too impatient. Getting the idea that he's a busy man.

I had to show a fair bit of persistence last year to get a bat from Gary, but it was worth it.
He is a very nice chap and the bat is beautiful. He also made a nice gesture that wasn't at all necessary, so I'd say the customer service is good for a man doing everything.

I ordered a bat in Jan, One arrived in Feb, Wasnt to my liking Gary offered for me to send it back and he will make it again. Arrived last week and the profile is perfect. and a chunky one at that.

I spoke to him last week. He is rammed at the moment (a good thing I suppose) so you may need to be somewhat patient, but keep trying. Phone is probably your best option rather than e-mail as well. Good luck!

Be patient, given that we are in the run in to the season he will be a busy boy, I went to see him to pick out a bat a few years ago but did it in the off season, as has been said he is a really nice guy and took the time to see me and a mate on a sunday morning and show us a few interesting bats.

It is the best bat I've had to date.
