I need to get 1oz to 1.5oz off my match bat to get the dead weight to 2lb10oz. Is getting some willow shaved-of the only way?

Is there any other way to achieve this weight reduction?

Saw a bit off the bottom?

If you take a bit off toe and a bit off splice or get it done by a bat maker then it won't effect performance.

Remove stickers
Put a lighter grip on
Remove toe guard
Remove scuff sheet
Saw off nobbly bit on the handle turning it into an ssh
Remove string from handle
Give it a refurb with the sander

Had tried that on a old bat, it reduced the weight but the pick-up got heavier and middle lower. That bat is now in my club kit as a fielding practice bat.

Remove stickers - it is a bradbury so not many sticekrs there, have already removed the "BRADBURY" sticker
Put a lighter grip on - current grip is 1.5 oz, so no way to get a lighter one
Remove toe guard - has a lamitoe
Remove scuff sheet - taken-off
Saw off nobbly bit on the handle turning it into an ssh - will ruin the pick-up though
Remove string from handle - wont this make the handle more wobbly and increase chances of breaking the handle
Give it a refurb with the sander - sounds workable, but I am told it will take a lot of sanding to get even 1oz off

I can, but it is about getting the dead weight down.

I already tried 2 grips and counter-balance, but after 20 mins in the nets struggled to play the horizontal bat shots with this bat, whereas I could easily pay then with my other bat which is 2lb9.5oz

Ah fair play then, maybe get some pics up so we can see where some weight could be taken off? Spine and toe are probably best

Airing cupboard for a fortnight.

However, 1oz is daft. I'm sure it won't make a difference. Especially once you get out of nets and onto proper wickets

Unfortunately I do not have a airing cupboard at my home
Will be using it in outdoor nets tomorrow, so should know if its really a big issue.
