Dear All

First of all, my apologies for the downtime you experienced yesterday. We have been working all day to resolve the issues and migrate the forum over from a shared server to a dedicated server.

This is just a short note to update you on what has been done and what is still to do.

- We have taken a backup copy of the old server database and files from about 7pm yesterday (20th April), just before the time when we brought the forum back up.

- We have migrated these to the new server and carried out tests and believe everything has transferred over correctly.

- We have carried out speed tests to access the new server from a normal broadband connection in the UK

- The forum is still currently on the old server.

- From now (approx 2.30am) we will take another copy of the database to transfer over any new posts since the last backup, ie. 7pm.

- We will then change the DNS nameservers on the Custom Bats domain to point to the new server. However, the propagation of this worldwide may take between 24-48hours. What this means is that some of you will see the old site and some the new site while the propagation is taking place.

- I have decided to start this now to cause the least disruption possible assuming (a) overnight UK time is the period when the majority of our users will be offline, (b) it is coming to the weekend when hopefully most of you will be playing, weather permitting, and (c) to get it done as soon as possible. Thank you for bearing with us a little longer.

PLEASE NOTE: If you make new posts or replies from now, these will NOT be transferred onto the new server

Posts I am making don't seem to be showing up and posts I saw earlier are also missing ? Any ideas ?

Ur in the cross over between being on the old and new server mate so this will happen
