Outstanding knowledge Talisman, as a lurker before signing up it's obvious you know your stuff. What would you, or anyone else for that matter, recommend for �50-80 at around 2lb 10oz - 2lb 12oz?

People may have missed my previous post owing to the late hour last night.

What would you recommend for �50-70 say at around 2lb 10oz to 2lb 12oz?

I like the Asian shapes, and not bothered about stickers and such like, just want something that goes and will last ok. What's the best I can get?

Oh, and PM7 - I'd be interested in hearing which manufacturers make bats for which brands in general. It's an interesting topic.

I've bought hundred's of Larson's over the years and sold them mainly blank or sometimes with Talisman stickers, they are very good value for money bats. AJ Sports will also stock blank CA bats in this price range, they tend to be bigger as dried out more, I think I actually prefer the shape at the price point.

Thanks Talisman. Have sent AJ Sports an email, and will have a closer look at the Larsons bats I've seen. You reckon there'll be a Larsons offering in that price range at a lower grade out there? I've seen an Encounter for �60 at a2z sports that looks decent.

THere are brand new GM lare 707's on JJB outlet's eBay for �75 at the moment, which is a good price for a good bat.

Nearly all the Larsons at AJ's are blank, that way they go out to some of ther smaller brands to be labelled, I would think they would have a good stock in right now, ask Abid to pick out the best one at the price, he is a top lad and knows his cricket bats...

Cheers for that - impressive knowledge and contacts, have sent an email, may give them a ring later on today or tomorrow. What would people recommend as an alternative in that price bracket if they have nothing for me? All your advice is most appreciated.

Nick, will have a look at that when I'm not restricted, i.e. at home later on. Never been keen on the Flare, but it's a decent shout.
