Being LBW when pitched outside leg. Never understood why it's just leg side balls that don't count?

playing conditions - introduce a 4th session into the evening for day/night tests. Means bowling 112 overs a day but the public deserve better value for money (in england) and at least tests would be over in 4 days. Most teams would have to use 5 bowlers , which can't be a bad thing.

Rules - foot outside the line of off stump. If it's hitting it's hitting, shoving a pad and looking like playing a shot shouldn't matter.

problem with the ball pitching outside leg is that it can be the only defence against an amended modern version of leg theory.

I fear that that might have a negative impact on the spinners though?

I'm not so sure..it doesn't seem to make much difference to their ability to turn it in odi's does it? It's more about the state of the pitch and that is something that will remain a constant...speaking from personal experience (as a rank SLA bowler!) I would much rather bowl with a ball 10 overs old than one that 70 overs old!

As said earlier - 1) No Chucking. No 15 degrees Bull. Either bowl clean or go pitch for a baseball team. :P
2) Don't know its a rule ? - But one proposed change - Make the cricket ball seam more pronounced helping to keep the game equal. Its all about Batsmen these days.
3) Min. boundary for International game - 80 yards.

Agree with 15 degrees rubbish

Min boundaries yes as some are chips not hits

New bal from each end in tests BIG YES cracking idea

No sub fielders allowed unless genuine injury  (I know it's a rule of sorts now but enforce it god damn it too many going off for a drink or a cuddle and allowed a replacement fielder )

Good shout on the sub fielders.........I was under the impression they had got tough on this but this 'tough stance' seemed to last about  2 tests..........England are one of the worst culprits but the more senior Indian players seem to be allowed just to bat these days!

Get rid of all the confusion involved with mankading. It causes more problems than solutions.

Stop the ridiculous wides which are mm's down the leg side (mainly in ODI and T20 cricket) cos quite frankly there's no point having that side of the stumps if the bowler isn't allowed to use it!

But if you have two new balls, on anything that is not likely to turn markedly for four days, there will be the temptation to pick four big burly lads knowing that they'll always have something decent to bowl with.

A better idea might be to loosen the rules regarding teh condition of the ball - maybe limit the doctoring to ensuring the shape and seam remain the same and no foreign objects, but allow a few fingernails and some dirt.

I'd go with that....Just feel we need to find a way of keeping the bowlers slightly (Very slightly!) on top...

Though of another one along the same lines............Every test playing nation should be forced to use the same make of cricket ball! Preferably a Dukes.....which hold their shape longer, have a better seam and swing more...the fact the ICC haven't done this yet defies belief.

But if you have two new balls, on anything that is not likely to turn markedly for four days, there will be the temptation to pick four big burly lads knowing that they'll always have something decent to bowl with.

To a certain extent you get that now anyway!
