Whale tail, concave or convex?
« on: April 29, 2012, 06:22:07 PM »

No I am not comparing J-Lo to Beyonce - I am intersted to know how people like the toes of their bats.

It appears that there are now many different ways to finish a toe and I thought it would be interesting to get people's thoughts.

Here we have the Reflex toe (which I used to love, but I think that phase has passed...!)

the ultimate concave shape.

then the ultamate convex shape (which I now prefer) from the screaming cat range (sorry if I have half inched pictures of somes bat ;))

then there are the different toe options...

so much choice...
what and why then please?

For me it's the Reflex toe all the way! I love that shape. I don't really see the need for a huge amount of wood at the toe end of the bat. The wood that is 'saved' at that point can be put into other areas of the bat. It's got to help the pickup as well hasn't it?

I would take the Scat shape over reflex anyday...Icon/Epic are a good compromise but I still prefer a healthy bottom ;)

If only there was as much toe on GM Icons as in that picture! They are in reality wafer thin, and break all the time. That must be one of those GM+ fatboys bats.
