Any idea whatever happened to the POWER bats?  That was my first bat too. I quite liked it. Nice middle. I tried to find what happened to the company - are they taken over by another big company or did they just close down?

My first english willow bats were - POWER (used by Kapil Dev and a few other Indian and Pakistani cricketers in the mid 80's) and a Symonds Tusker.

The Tusker was a excellent bat and served me very well for 3-4 years (pretty longtime). The POWER one was a decent stick and ended up as a autograph bat after a (year's usage)

Both the bats were Polycoated (something like a varnish) which protected the bat from water and drying but made the willow look goldenish brown.

I had a cheeky little gray nicholls number with the horrible white fabric covering, which I took off one day to find three horrific knots in the wood, and I mean real knots that were dark brown and even jutted out of the blade a bit. I was horrified and as I didnt know what else to do (i was inexperienced in the cricket world) covered them with masking tape!! Ha!!! Good times!
