« on: May 04, 2012, 08:51:53 PM »

Hi all,
I have my Level 2 Coaching Assessment tomorrow, ive been very busy recently and have just completed all my log books etc and now need to plan wicketkeeping, off-spin and long barrier coaching sessions(I am neither a wicketkeeper or spin bowler  :( ). I cant find my coaching cards  >:( and was hoping you guys could suggest some activities/games to use with explanations. If anyone has any links to good drills please provide them too  :) struggling a bit here  :(

YouTube helped me through my level 2 Assesment! Have a look on there.

Out of those I would rather have long barrier. I had 2hand pick up and 1 hand pick up for my level 2, spent about 2 hours planning each one! Then again, so people onto the course didn't plan there's with as much detail and did fine

Cheers Liam, ill have a gander on youtube now :)
Im hoping for that, as long as it isnt off-spin! I'm not going to be able to spend anywhere near that amount of time, its gonna be a quick 20min each tops i think :/ As long as i remember the order to do everything in i should be ok hopefully. I didnt get a DVD, got a big ringbinder instead, trawled through it but dont think its even the same as the DVD so not much help lol

Wicketkeeping

Pair up, set of stumps each, they feed balls to each other to practice skill. Can do 3 minutes off side and 3 leg side to pads it. Do them as separate skills. Then put them into 3s 1 keeper 1 fielder and a batter to just stand the as a distraction, (could have a cone in their hand to provide Knicks) then could do a competion at the end to see who can take the ball the best?

Remember to take the ball back to the stumps when you are doing the demos.

Long barrier, fairly easy, split in half. Set of stumps and a cone. 1 person behind stumps, rest behind cones. Ball gets rolled out and they field it, throw it in. Then the keeper goes to back of que. can do a game where batter have to complete a short 2 runs before fielders get the ball in.
