Custom Ayrtek Elite Review
« on: May 12, 2012, 05:52:14 AM »

Let me first start off apologizing TomTek for the delay in posting my review. Also just to clarify matter beforehand, TomTek DOES NOT ask you to review his product after purchasing it, so it would be sickening to think or say that :(

My first Ayrtek was Green Premier which I bought off revboy, it was amazing and I just loved that helmet. Afterwards I joined a new club so bought another Premier for that. However, I was still not at rest, was restless and wanted Ayrtek Elite. So I sold my Masuri and Green Premier to pave arrival of Custom Ayrtek Elite.

As usual emails were exchanged, I wanted something totally different and something exceptional. With my poor skills I began to work on the Ayrtek template and designed something which looked great to me. Here is what the revised design looked like and it was approved by Tom;

I had rather arduous request which were having a magnetic clip rather than standard one, double matted, white semi-circle and list goes on! The list was like Stana's list! I wonder how Tom kept himself cool!! :(

Here is how the helmet looks like in flesh;

My club and Ayrtek Elite helmet;

Shell thickness difference;

It was merely impossible to have star and moon painted so Tom got stickers printed and pasted them. The semi-circle white region is also sticker. However, what is not illustrated in pictures is that star/moon have glossy finish while semi-circle has matte finishing. That combination works exceptionally well with the lid! Top was extremely kind to throw in spare set of stickers for free which I found to be extremely generous!

The weight difference between Elite and Premier is significant! Elite feels as you are not wearing anything, whilst Premier is light too but Elite is way more lighter than Premier! I used Elite twice and then kept it aside due to fear that I might not cope with my club helmet in games and blame my poor Ayrtek Premier for my failure on game day due to its heaviness :(. I did have few eyes staring at me in nets, but what I don't like is when guys who ask price first, and then upon being told don't believe that its worth that much!  >:( >:(

Last but not least, thanks a lot for everything Tom, I appreciate it! I am often pain in backside to deal due to my demands but you made everything possible for me, you went extra yard to get things done for me so I profusely thank you for it!!!

Lovely review there. Looks like Toms done an amazing job as usual!

So will the elite just be a net helmet then? Just the impression I get from reading the post.

Would it be possible to fit one to my lid during an end of season refurb? Assuming they are fully introduced by then?

No wonder! It looks amazing, I really like the finish on it.

Once again thanks!! :)

You got the magnetic clip! I want one of those more that the 12 vent!

Same here, 12 vents was merely impossible at this stage but after much anticipation Tom was kind enough to give me a magnetic clip which again was great of that man!

Your saying it would just be easier for me to purchase a raw with it on from the start!?

Haha!!
