I was watching the ipl final and i couldn't believe that no one was backing up (walking down the wicket at the non strickers end to get a head start) as it seems all the sides i play against and indeed i do it. Also did the law get changed so you have to throw it to a fielder and the fielder has to throw it back then you run the non stricker out?

Well I certainly do!! Can't see professional clubs not doing it like... Not sure on the rule change though..

I do it to a certain extent. But not like some kids do. I prefer to just take my time and watch the bowler bowling, where he's bouncing it, how fast he is, any swing. After all its pointless running down to the strikers end in 2 seconds flat but then getting clean bowled becuase you didn't know what to expect.

i back up pretty aggressively, but once i got mankaded. i was ropeable. but then i got recalled and hit the guy who did it to me for 6

He took a run up!  and as the bowler bowled, Warne was in full speed sprint already.. luckily he didnt need to, since Sohail Tanvir hit a nice shot  (only needed 1 to win)

i think the ruling is if you are out of the ground and the bowler knocks the bails off in his delivery strides thats a warning meaning next time if he does it and your out of your crease your out.

Apparently not. There is no warning necessary, but it would be considered extremely unsportsmanlike to do it without a warning to the offending batsman before doing so.

If the runner is out of the crease, and bowler gets him mankaded out.. then its out

WHAT is unsportsmanlike about that?? 

its like saying "i wont bowl too fast incase i hit the stumps"

I back up big time and I've got the confidence that there won't be a straight drive with a deflection as I'm willing to take that risk it stops more runouts than it causes imo.

I've been run out doing it as well twice and it's one of the worst feelings ive ever had. As i was so unlucky the other batsman hadn't hit one straight all his innings and he choses when i'm out my crease to do it.
And the other was when i was backing up and the bowler knocked the bails off by accident and he umpire gave me out.

i have been out once doing it and it was a total fluke! straight drive went up to the bowler and it hit off his hand onto my back foot as i started running when he called and rolled on to the stumps, hadn't even faced a ball doesnt stop me doing it still it will never happen again

my gold coast rep at the club said it was outlawed in australia. my reasoning behind that is that the ball isnt 'alive' until the ball is released from the bowlers hand while bowling. i mean it's pretty bad, if you can't get a batman out conventionally you shouldn't reverse to illegal tactics
