Hi guys

I've always wet/soaked my inners before the game.

Does this help in any way or do some of you do it and some not etc?

i do yeah makes them soft... and reduces the impact i guess

Tried both and stuck to dry inners, It has no difference in my opinion,
Its a little impact, you just gotta man up and take it.
Catch the ball correctly and it wont hurt

My old man always taught me to do this but I stopped a few years back and prefer dry inners personally

I always do it, I got told it brings the swelling out in your hands when you get hit in them.

Never seen the point of this, it just makes gloves more uncomfortable and i don't notice a difference. Catch the ball correctly and it won't hurt

Traditionally the idea was to make the chamois softer as they would have stiffened up after the last wearing. Once you start the process you will need to keep doing it however this will not only rot the stitching in the innners but later in the keeping gloves themselves.

I prefer a cotton padded inner...more comfor and longer lasting

I would avoid. I used to do this a few years back but found
(a) would rot the gloves due to moisture
(b) probably not too hygieinic as the water plus sweat will cause moulding of the gloves
(c) doesnt really make any difference to feel or shock absorption in the gloves

Although I'm not a keeper, I disagree, our keeper who has been keeping for more years than I've been playing always wets his inners and he says he prefers it much more than dry inners. No rotting or mouldy inners or gloves either!
