ST Extreme
« on: May 31, 2012, 07:38:52 PM »

Completed a bat for a mate, who wanted  a big bat and a bit unique:

Edges : 40 mm max
Spine:  75 mm max
Standard width and length, long handle.

Weight : 3.0 lb

Would love to hear some feedback!

Looks a top bat and class finish again. Anyone else think of the old SS jumbos with the cut out at back?

Very nice!

How long does it take you to make a bat?

Liking the look of that, top work!

What did you use to scoop out the back?

Thanks Tushar. I used an oversize cleft to make this bat. The starting weight was aroun 1750 gms ( above 4 lbs).

The same profile can be made with a lower weight, the only difference will be lesser edges and a bit lower spine.

Where do you get the oversize clefts from and how did you press or is it the shaping you do and someone else sorts the handle and pressing?

Lovely mate. You seem to be a natural at batmaking  :). Love the profile but not the scooping. Where would you have taken the weight off if scooping wasn't an option ?
