Took it to Hawk to have a look at today. They said its had it! Could do a repair but no guarentee how long it could last. Said might last a season or might break first time you use it. Its about 4 years old so I can't see Salix doing anything either. Probably best to put my money towards a new bat.

Yeah I would say that's fair, it a shame you cant fix it your self, the difficulty with these types of cracks in that there is a lot of stress in that part of the bat, but you have to open the crack up to get the glue it - its a catch22...

but 4 years, is not bad!!!

Yeah suppose 4 years isn't bat, but it's always a bit gutting when a favourite bat finally falls apart. Wouldn't be so bad if I had the prospect of buying a replacement but what will have to wait a few months as skint. Already got a few in mind but deciding will be tough.

I think four years is excellent - especially if you divide the original cost by four (or even three if it's only in it's fourth season) - it works out to be a good buy I would imagine.
Having a nice bat is always a problem because people want a go with it and you feel a bit precious if you turn them down. I had the same thing many years ago and in the end I had to draw the line and say no - and the reaction was not good. It rather annoyed me to be honest.

I've uploaded Elsi's photo's of his Salix which has broken in the same place. Doesn't look good at all!
If you not had it long I'd definately send it back, shouldn't have done that.

Only bats I've had do that before have been CA's, with what I've been told were badly fitted handles.

They won't catch us this time! Not this time! They haven't spotted us! No, they're all snoring in their bunks! Or, you know what? They're drinking at the bar, celebrating our sinking! Not yet, my friends. Not yet!
