Knockin in the bat
« on: June 13, 2012, 03:16:46 PM »

Hello mates,
I have been knocking the bat for over a month now and had a few net session also...
So i wanna know how come i know bat is fully knocked in?
An aussie chap told me to check wiht your nails if they leave a mark or not....
Another thing is the rebound of the bat is quite good but the 5 inches of bottom makes an awful sound and no rebound at all. If i hit the ball on the bat with my hand at that bottom part the ball just doesnt bounce ...
What is this dilemma? is it crafting fault or needs more knocking in....
The willow from the bottom is fairly soft as compared to rest as you can see my nail marks in the pics.
I am afraid i will break it coz i just broke a nice new CA bat which has same sound at toe.
I made a short video ,someone  might can hear the sound when the ball hits the toe...
Please share your experiences.
Cheers

I think that bat could do with a good old oil and probably a bit more banging with the mallet, as hard as you can!

After seeing your video the rebound off the bat seems to sound like it is knocked in.
