Best Bag According To You?
« on: June 15, 2012, 04:40:04 AM »

I never thought that I would be this fussed when it comes to bag, I used to have MB Malik Double Decker which was;

Then I bought GM Original LE Duplex which was;

Both were good, however, one thing I didn't like was the fact they were 'too big' once everything was stuffed in and becomes quite inconvenient to carry around. So last Sunday for the first time I used my M&H Medium Canvas which I got from M&H Clearance sale for like 35 Quids and it was amazing. I was able to fit in what I wanted to fit in.

So I prefer bags around similar size to M&H Medium Canvas, do anyone have any recommendation?

This is what I wish to fit in it;

1 Pair of pads
2-3 Pairs of gloves
Thigh Guard Set + Arm Guard
Box
Shoes
A box with spikes utilities and a small bag for wrist bands etc etc
Few shirts, trousers, small towels etc.

I was lurking around few websites and I came across Salix Pod Pro and Pod Pack, does anyone have either of these? If so how are they? Is it easy to commute in them? Are they light and convenient?

Many thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

Yes, I also need a duffle especially for winter indoors where I carry less stuff than what I do to games.

From duffles I liked Shamrock, however, lately someone brought this Gray Nicolls to my attention;

One of my friend bought Salix one here and he swears on that (haven't seen it yet).

After all, what Buzz touches is nothing but a great product ;)

Maybe BlankBats should have bags too? ;) BlankBags :D

I've a Salix pod pro and I've spent time commuting with it. My observations are that whilst not being enormous, it's a cricket bag and therefore will take up space. What I like about it is that it isn't super huge and I get pads, helmet, two bats, gloves, strippers, two pairs of boots, shower kit and playing kit in it with no problems. I think it also looks very professional and feels high quality material wise, although I recently bust the zip on the boot tunnel.

I also have a duffle which I've tended to use for nets. I've found I can get all my kit in it, but need to carry my bat separately if I do that as the bat pocket on the side doesn't always open up properly. The duffle I have is a Slazenger V-series because it was cheap.

AERO Tour stand up every time.  Yes, I would make a couple of small changes to the pocket set up because it still isn't quite perfect, but I manage to be out and about for a month at a time with mine!

A Cricket Box Pro Grade bag. Holds mine and my youngest's gear - mind you, we don't have as much kit as some of you! Looks well made, plenty of pockets etc. and fits in the car boot.

CD, have you considered the Albion medium wheelie? I was considering that if I could make the same modifications to it that I made to my M&H double decker (i.e firm up the base), plus it has a rigid pull handle so it'll be easier to cart around?

I'm there! Aero tour stand up bag fits everything I need! It is enourmous..the elephant of all bags!
Also has compartments for 3 bats and can fit another 2 in the corners and all the rest of my kit! Pockets galour.
And if you're playing against a team with space challenging changing rooms, then it'll stand up and take a small amount of room!!
The only downside is the size of it. But I have an Audi estate so fits in across the boot, but would be a problem in a smaller car!!

Pete - guess you'll agree with me though that the bat compartment would be better with four pockets rather than three, all done at a slight angle?  There's plenty of space for this to be done, but most importantly for me, it would also mean that you wouldn't expose the spines of your bats to such damage...

Yes fella - I'd go along with that! In my case 5 pockets for bats!  ;)
I doubt I'd go back to a normal bag now!!!

Newbery SPS looks huge too, nice double decker. Not too sure about bat compartments though.
