The first cricket box was used in 1874.  The first cricket helmet was introduced in 1974. So, it took 100 years for men to twig that their brains were also worth protecting.

Faced an angry bowler yesterday. First he bounced me, then threw in a few body liners & finished the over off with one to the nuts & inner thigh. My trusted Slazi box took a fair brunt of it but still left me wincing & teary eyed.

Firstly, is this all in a days work for an opener or shall I go back to bat 6?  ???

My main question is... What is the best box you can buy? Currently using a traditional but have no shape preference.

Aero box in aero cycling shorts, really comfy when batting, don't notice it's there at all.

Not sure when keeping wicket, rubs against my pubic region a it too much for comfort

I have the nutty buddy. No plans to test it like that though...

What's the nutty buddy like Tim? Is it worth the (comparatively large) investment? And is it any good for keeping? I struggle with my box moving around in my Slaz shorts when I'm batting, leading to constant unsightly readjustments!

When I keep I wear bike shorts and then a jockstrap that hold the cup in place.  It seems like overkill but it's been the most comfortable setup so far.  I use an under armor cup but I've heard good things regarding shock doctor as well.
