Cockspur Club Twenty/20
« on: July 02, 2012, 10:27:47 AM »

Hiya Guys,

We went through to the next round of the Cockspur 20/20 at the weekend for the East Anglia Premier League. Beating 2010 winners Swardeston in the final, very close game with them needing six off the last ball. That means we are two games away from the finals day on Sky.

I think we are playing the winners of the Middlesex Premier League in the next round. Just wondered if you guys knew of the knew of the teams left in it and what they are like.

Cheers

Blimey you are a long way behind. So who are the stand out teams that are left? What sort of players do they have?

Ealing or Teddington will probably win it. Although as I'm an Uxbridge boy I would like to think we have a chance ;)

Chris Peploe seems to be their big star - used to play for Middlesex, quality left arm spinner, can bat too.  They have strength in depth, do most things well basically - think they've losy about two games in the last 18 months.

Played against an Asian lad a few years ago who opened the bowling for Ealing, think he was pushing 75-80 mph. Would've been brown pants time but the deck was so slow and low that I just about dealt with him. Being a friendly as well he might of been under orders to pitch it up  :)

A guy joined us this season from Teddington, real quality player.

Went to the finals day at Chelmsford last year as my previous employer were sponsoring the kit.

It's a good day but quite cold as it was late on in the year!

Tahir Afridi who opened the bowling for Ealing last year bowled around 75mph, apparently Ollie Wilkin is just touching 80mph so dont know where reds got that statement from.
