Comment from Steyn in the Sunday Times:

"Frankly, I just want to take wickets and scare the s*** out of people".

I'm sure you'll do that Dale...

Anyone else severely disappointed at this being a 3 test series?

I've heard a rumour on twitter that Steyn has gone and doen a Glenn McGrath 2005 style and is out of the 1st test.  Whoever runs the forum twitter account is now very excited!

Steyn is out and sun has hit south-east London - what a mouthwatering prospect!

To be honest, Bumble tends to be off his rocker on twitter, so I wouldn't pay attention to it

Gonna be an awesome series! I think it will be tight but I think South Africa has a bit more depth in batting and bowling departments at the moment. I suspect the English batsmen have not been tested by a good pace attack n a while and this Is the most experienced SA batting line up in a long while. Smith seems to love playing in England and Amla, Kallis and De Villiers's records speak for themselves. Not to forget that Rudolph seems to have a fairly decent track record n County Cricket and will be familiar with the bowlers and conditions. Gives Duminy a great opportunity to cement his place in the side.

No.  Haven't seen anything on cricinfo or BBC confirming he is out.  Think bumble was on a wind up!

It's been confirmed that Steyn is fit and playing and Bresnan holds off Finn.
