Need to learn to get their hands out of the way of the short ball.

This is why Finn should be in the team.

Haven't seen the 'shocking' decision as only have cricinfo at work!
But always a bit bad when something like that happens I reckon  :(

Saying that, I still reckon will need that bit of luck and then some more!
Looking forward to watching the highlights later, although Amla (who I love watching bat) is already out! That's not a bad thing considering the 300+ he got last time though  ;)

Finn sounds as if he's bowling superbly well

Snicko said that Kallis hit it, although I'm not sure how the 4th Umpire would be able to tell that...

It touched his glove clearly.

But his glove was off the bat - clearly.

Kallis was incorrectly given out.

Petersen's decision looked similar, but he didn't think about querying it until it was too late.

Smith was plain dumb and Amla got an jaffa.

Not all that clearly but...

But his glove was off the bat - clearly.

That was as plain as day...Can't believe the decision was overturned. Oh well :)

just to add, that if the two gloves were touching and the top hand was also on the bat, but the bottom hand which gets hit by the ball is off the bat, then the batsman is out too. I have no idea whether that is the case in this instance - reports suggest they were apart and it was just a shocking decision (still never mind Jaques, you will get another go in the second dig...!)

Out of interest, why is that the rule?

It will be something to do with continuous contact with the bat...
