Briggs in as the second spinner in my opinion. And I am in no way biased or from Hampshire  ;).

Eeek....

Briggs is not the man to be our second spinner, he doesn't turn the ball!

Overall though, I suppose this is not too bad.  Pietersen gone, they were always going to be an experienced batsman light, and I am really pleased that they have not jumped back to Cook or Bell.  That said, I would have liked to see Woakes or Stokes in there, perhaps instead of Wright?

Agree with this.

Do you reckon they tried to name an entire squad who's surnames started with B and then ran out?

I would have picked Prior to provide the additional experience and as back up keeper. His form in this year's domestic T20 has been outstanding. He has scored 247 runs at an average of 49.4 and a strike rate of 199.19.

I understand that Kieswetter has done a good job, but in the absence of KP, he gives you cricketing experience.

Seconded.
Poor shout from the ECB and I bet Prior is gutted he is to miss out!

/ Alex Hales (Nottinghamshire)
/ Craig Kieswetter (Somerset) (w/k)
/ Ravi Bopara (Essex)
/ Eoin Morgan (Middlesex)
/ Jonathan Bairstow (Yorkshire)
/ Jos Buttler (Somerset)
/ Samit Patel (Nottinghamshire)
/ Graeme Swann (Nottinghamshire)
/ Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire) (Capt)
/ Jade Dernbach (Surrey)
/ Steven Finn (Middlesex)

Reserves;
Chris Woakes (Warwickshire)
/ Michael Lumb (Nottinghamshire)
James Tredwell (Kent)
/ Luke Wright (Sussex)

I was 2 off as you can see above, I put Woakes and Tredwell in, instead of Briggs/Bresnan. Personally I would've preferred my team

To be fair though, neither did Michael Yardy, and he was one of the best bowlers in the last tournament. I'm amazed Woakes isn't in.....I can see why they chose Wright though. He has a lot of experience in the format now and has shown that 'on his day' (whenever that might be!) he can be as destructive as any player in the world....not sure about his bowling though...

Luke Wright bowled a crucial over in the last final if I remember correctly.
Got the job done.

The main thing missing from this squad is someone with the same levels of calm that Collingwood embodies.

Wrights batting is too hit and miss if you ask me, and i agree with the calls for Prior to be selected, they dont seem to have taken much note of this years domestic t20 form, otherwise why has Briggs been picked? like someone mentioned hes taken 4 wickets. how about Rafiq at Yorkshire? wickets and economical whilst also captaining the side, and can bat. in my opinion the majority of the side should be made up by the players with the best domestic form and records, which it currently isnt. how many games did swanna and broad play for instance?

very different conditions though, aren't they.

As regards Wright - I agree he can hit the balll big but I'm not sure how you get him in the side - there are better out and out batsmen, and you would not want to gamble on him bowling four overs.  So are they planning to pick him, Ravi and Fat Sammy as part of a seven man bating line up and trust to four overs between them?
