Got delivery of the LE (it's for a team mate who is unaware that he will be getting it) and it looks superb and picks up beautifully. Great piece of work by John and brilliant service so big thanks. Bats are very personal, but for many a year the guy in question has just used what happened to be spare in the kit bag, so we took a bit of a gamble. He does all the admin, all the running around, including giving players lifts to matches. Without him we wouldn't have a team - in actual fact we wouldn't even have a ground to play on. He asks for not so much as a penny in return. So a whip round was organised at very short notice to get him a bat as a thank you, and he will be getting a surprise pre-game tomorrow.

How did he like bat? Sounds like you're part of a very generous club.

He is delighted with it. I don't think we are a generous club. The guy has been going the extra yard for us for many a year and it was way past time that his efforts were recognised. I'd like to add that everyone put their hands in their pockets willingly - didn't have to be asked twice.
