Salix pod/strike

Hi guys,

Don't often hear much about Salix bats on here. What are peoples opinions on them, especially the Pod and Strike models?

Superb, top notch bats!
They are finished beautifully and the Praestantia I have goes beatifully!
The Strike is similar to a Pod and is also a joy to use!
The Pod is the flagship and have never heard a bad word about them.

How are they performance wise? Obviously this varies bat to bat.

they are terrific bats,ive had about 10.

only bettered by one of pete's cast offs!!(which i have now)

so my salix is on ebay

Not surprised PH, having your collection of bats would give me anxiety problems which one to use :)

it's a tailsman,which if you were to rip the labels off is a newbery underneath i reckon

I've used a couple of Salix's of Pete's..both brilliant! Great bats, probably the best finished bats on the market, and they really go. 

Only negative is the price but when you do everything yourself and don't do any outsourcing then your costs tend to be higher...way of the world unfortunately! Proper English craftsmanship!

They are Rolls Royce, terrific bats! Truly English and completely handmade bats, one of the few out there.

I doubt you'll ever hear a bad word about Salix, there Rogue go exceptionally well!!

Ok typewriter - looking forward to the update  ;)

To update on mine, the Pod Players and Strike Players are still being played in but are looking top notch.
The Praestantia I have been using is Grade 1 and is a freak of a bat!

Mine is a Pod Performance, pics in the It's Just Cricket thread. - Bargain. It's knocked in and I'm sorely tempted to use it straight away, but then again, I think that some gentle net sessions in readiness for next season might be the way to go. Very, very impressed with the response to ball and mallet. First bat that I've had where the sound and feel go right down to the toe.

I completely disagree with this - I think the price is actually one of the major selling points! You'll struggle to get a G1+ bat from a major brand at around the £300 mark, which the Pod Players is...

I have a Praestantia Performance and it's, by far, the best performing bat I've ever had...
