Which Salix Bag?
« on: August 03, 2012, 03:10:34 PM »

Has anyone got one of these or seen one in the flesh. If so please tell me what it is like in terms of quality and looks and if anyone has any images that would be great.
Ps: sorry for yet another bag thread!
Craig.

I've got one, Its a lovely looking bag made with good tough canvas but it has quite a few downsides I'd say. It's main problem is the lack of pockets, It has one on the outside trimmed in leather with the M&H logo that can maybe accommodate some sunglasses, a couple of cricket balls and that's it. On the inside there aren't any pockets at all so all kit would go in the one big compartment, there's no bat pocket on the large one either so bats inside too. I found the large one too big unless your a keeper, then it's fine. Plus if you have lots of small items like tape, balls, first aid kit etc. its a pain fitting into the one outside pocket. The other downside is that although it looks the part, it gets very dirty, especially when in the car boot with other bags.

I've since given it to my brother (Who is a keeper) and bought myself Salix Pod Pro, now that's a great bag. No such problems there.

I have Medium one which I picked in sale. I personally like the bag because of its size and compactness. I'm not able to fit in a bag but I don't mind holding a bat. Apart from that I like the quality and way it has been made. More importantly I like its size, which is big factor for me now.

It is classy bag in my opinion and I recommend it!

I have now decided that the M&H bag just isn't for me so I thought I would ask this question here instead of sating a new topic.
I am now after a Salix bag but my question is which bag do you think is right for me?
I would need to fit the following in:
2 x bats ('Bat cave' will cover this)
2 x batting gloves
Batting pads
Keeping pads
Keeping gloves
Strippers
Helmet
Box
Whites
and the usuall extras.

Advice would be very much appreciated thank you!

For the record, the M&H canvas bag has the worst downside in that the single central zip makes getting anything out of the bag a real pain unless you get everything out.

I have the salix pod allkit which is great, fits an unbelievable amount of kit in.
It does have a bat cave and a pull out handle and a big sidepocket with two mesh pockets inside the bag for smaller stuff/valuables etc. also the material is very strong and the base is solid. The only downside is that it is quite heavy and large.

yes but the compartment for Rod only accomodates 31" where as most SH bats are 34-35 inches..and its stupidly expensive...
