Been batting in the nets tonight,  and found the thumb on my bottom (right)  hand was very painful while batting.

I had hurt my thumb about 8 months ago,  and had limited flexibility in it for a long time.  A few days ago I noticed there was a small lump of 'gristle'  that could be moved, but uhurt a little. This is what became painful when batting as the grip pressed against the lump.

My question is there anything I can do with my gloves or grip that might help. I currently use 2 and a half grips so,  don't really want to add another.  I am tempted to try and add some padding to my gloves,  but just wondered if anyone had suggestions

I had this the other week, I got a full toss in at the ribs and I batting it off and it kind of jarred my thumb, it's been hurting since :/

Think your right - it does match the description. Think I'll have to look into having it removed as a long term solution.

I had one in my wrist, it was massive, looked like i had a bone sticking out. It wasnt painful to begin with but eventually it was messing with the ligaments so I had ot have it removed.

night before my operation i was doing something and basically put a lot of wieght on my wrist at a funny angle and my wrist just gave way ..... looked down to expect some serious damage only to see it had popped!!

I know someone who had one removed from their wrist and it has restricted movement to about 90% of the other but no pain and about 2 or 3 mionths out.

With your thumb you should be ok, only a month or so out but you must move it and try to get the full range of movement back in it.
