Blank Bats T20 Review ! Now With Pics
« on: August 13, 2012, 09:10:33 PM »

I took one of these a little while back and just haven't got around to do a review, i hand picked the bat from around 6 bats a couple of t20 and standard sh bats. Not sure how many of these were made and sold however the concept is not anything particularly new its a shorter blade with a longer handle but has a standard width blade.

The bat weighs 2lb 10oz and is a large profile with a huge middle, what i mean by a huge middle is that the hitting area is bigger on this bat than any other ive previously had. On most bats the middle is a fairly small area on the bat and if not hit in the middle you loose performance so when i tapped this bat up i decide i would keep it.

The profile is large although not the biggest ive ever seen and i didn't pick this based around the grain structure it was selected purely on performance and pick up & balance, the bat picks up very very well and its hard to believe its 2lb 10oz as it feels a fair bit lighter in the hand. Ive had around 2 hours knocking in and it performs very very well and is just getting better and better.

I will upload some pictures of the bat in the morning as my camera is on charge, anyone consider a new bat i strongly suggest you give this some serious consideration. I'm more of a fan of this type of bat because it can be easily used in all forms of the game and not just T20 like a few of the other T20 bats on the market. I will add some further comments once i have used this a bit more however if anyone has any questions or anything let me know.

Great to hear this! I have BlankBat T20 bat and it is amazing bat and I love it!

I agree with you that this bat can be used across all other formats rather than just Twenty20s.

I'm very pleased with the one I got and I find it to be brilliant

Nice looking bat - I think the branding iron technique needs perfecting though! ;)

Is it a T20 bat in the sense that it has a shorter blade/longer handle or just that the bat is very powerful so is suited to aggressive batting? Thanks.

The branding mark takes away from the bat as its the first thing you notice but apart from that it is a nice stick

The edge branding really is appalling in my opinion, definitely wouldn't pay full price for a bat with that on the edge. For the kind of money being paid they should perfect the edge branding first before selling any bat. But to be honest that's just me, if you're one of those people who doesn't care about the look of a bat and gopurely by performance and pick up then obviously it doesn't matter.

I agree, edge branding looks horriffic, and a bit too much going on for a 'blank bat'

Nothing too wrong with the branding however in the pics somehow it looks worse than it is, not a single person who has seen the bat in the flesh has mentioned it and im talking over 20 players have picked it up and played some air shots.

I couldn't care about the stickers or the edge as im planning on using the rather large and extravagant middle of the bat ha.

The bloke was still learning how to do the stamp at that point give him a chance! I think a bit of sandpaper would tone it down. My one is branded perfectly and it is superb, I have 260 runs from it in just 2 innings. I will buy another fir next season and if the branding is a bit off I'll sand it or put tape over it .... Not a big deal
