Thanks, Yash - what makes the E41 so much better than the A61?

I haven't seen either in the flesh yet, but from the stock photos, they look exactly the same...
A61 - High Spine and concaving, E41 - big edges, lower spine height, less concaving. Middle position looks similar on both from the profile shots I've seen.

Thank god for that as owzat cricket seem to be having problems getting me and oblivion players 2.8 :D

Not Owzat's fault - they must've just run out in that weight and not been able to replace.  We approached GN recently about getting some Oblivion and Powerbow Players in, and they said the lightest they had left in either was 2.10! From a retailer's POV, you really need to get your initial stock order with GN right, as they're very often out of stock of something that you want.  This is not so much of a problem with our other suppliers, interestingly...

Quote from: ItsJustCricket We are clearly very low in their pecking order when it comes to retailers...  :(

They obviously don't know how much stock you have shifted recently...

Just checked their stock shots again, and the concaving, spine and edges all look exactly the same to me.  I guess this proves how little stock photos reveal about a bat.  But even GN's descriptions about the shape is exactly the same for both bats!

Yeah - the stock shots really don't tell you much. That's what I got from reading around a bit, so who knows. We'll have to wait and see, or pop along to the GN stand at Lord's if anyone is going, and take a look!

That's a bit strange...

I'm looking forward to seeing the dynadrive/e 41 and the maverick

I think GN are the front runners, out of all the major players now

It's on Monday the 17th of September.  I think most manufacturers will be there apart from Kookaburra, Puma, Slazenger and GM (who are all doing the Twickenham show instead).  I'm going to both - will you be at the Lord's one, Matt?

I would indeed like to go, I'll have to see if I can get it off work.

I had both the e41 and A61. Very different profiles. However, I might be wrong as the A61 that I got was a player issue pre-release  bat, so not sure if GN Aus have made any changes to the profile in the last 6-10 months.

As per GN Aus, the e41 has a slightly lower middle than the A61. But the A61 that I got had a pretty long middle.

The A61 I had was very similar to M&H Distinction from 2010/11.

The e41 uses better grade of willow than the A61 - at least for the shop bats.

Agreed, stock pictures are very misleading - looking forward to seeing these bats @ Lord's

Courtesy CI

From the pics it seems A61 has smaller spine but bigger edges compared to E41 and marginally less concaving although E41 seems a bigger bat in general to me but then again pic can be deceiving

Saving up for my 18th birthday in June 2013 will  buy myself a dynadrive in about 2.12-2.14  assuming they're going to be g1 and maybe an e41 but more likely a blank bat or h4l monster. Will the e41 scoop be coming to the UK?
