Matt Prior in for Bopara?
« on: August 31, 2012, 06:28:36 PM »

Anyone agree? Even if prior keeps the gloves off. I know Bopara is a bit of an all rounder but I'm thinking about Prior's batting....

bopara is one of cooks best mates and bowled 10 good overs today. plus anyone can get 0.

prior for kieswetter maybe, but neither will happen.

for me prior would be first pick but that is irrelevant. oh and bairstow can't get a game either...

Bairstow has the problem of Prior still going to be an ok age for the England team for at least a few more years leaving it hard for him to get in.

I think Bairstow or Prior instead of Bedwetter, but don't think there's room for both of them.

Really want to see Woakes in the team at 7

If Bairstow comes in for Kieswetter , then we've only gotta get rid of Trott now to have a pure English team ;).

Edit : Oh , forgot about Morgan  :-[.

the thing with Prior is, its hard to see where you'd bat him unless you gave him the Trott spot - as an opener he tends to struggle against the best bowling because he doesn't naturally get under the ball, and as a late order hitter the same applies.  So, do you really have him as your "nurdler"?  Tough call on the incumbent...

Naa I'd bring in Bairstow for Patel, Patel didn't bowl and if Ravi Bop continues to bowl like he did today then I don't see the need for 6 bowlers.

Bopara has had a few chances now and nothing really seems to come of it .... County excellent but international cricket does he cut the mustard?
