Wondering if this Kahuna is
a)repairable
b) can it be done at home by someone with average DIY ability

Damage was done just by batting in the middle, first the face became chipped then progressed to the 5 inch crack up the side of the bat. I assumed the chip on the face was not a major problem, unsure if related but the appeared within 3 innings off each other. Performance was unchanged with the chip, but the bat feels awful with the crack vertically up the edge.

Absolute gun of a bat, so hoping it can be repaired. Have included as many photos as possible to show the damage, can add more if needed. Keen to hear your thoughts and reccomendations

nothing pva glue wouldn't fix.

Open up the crack with a knife and brush a good quality PVA in to the long crack, clamp and leave to set over night. Then you need to sort out the chip/ de-lamination, repeat the first step. Should hold but as with all repairs their is no guarantee.

How wide would I open the crack, given its much wider at the bottom than the top? Andhow deep in should I brush the PVA?

Get it in as deep as you can!

As someone else said in another topic, pour lots of glue into the crack and get yourself a straw and blow the glue deep, deep into the crack! I did it with a bat and it was a lot worse than your Kahuna!

you can also water down the glue a tiny bit to make it easier to get into the cracks. should repair ok but you can never be sure how long it will last.

obviously dont make the crack any bigger but get as much glue in and as deep as you can. this will give it a better opportunity of holding.
