What do you want?
« on: September 03, 2012, 07:27:39 PM »

Ok, we may only be a small minority of the cricket market but as knowledgeable customers, and this could possibly be helpful for the forum brands, what do you want from your bats?

For me I like rounded faces, medium edges and not much concaving. What I'd think of as a proper English bat. Seems like from all the talk about the 2013 ranges everyone's sold out for flat faces and massive edges, do we all want this?

I suppose by the market not having any bats that I want it may give me an added incentive to use a bat for more than a season!

Give it a week or so fella, I might be able to buck the trend and surprise a few enthusiasts.

I want a bat that has minimal concaving, reasonable size edges and a round face, none of this flat face malarkey.

Rounded face with decent sized edges (around 30mm) and minimum concaving to give a big playing area. I like a bit of modern mixed in with traditional, so a shape like the Newbery Tour is what I like. :D Afterall, I'm going to need all the sweetspot I can get!  8)

For me I'd like to see a company offering a wide variety of profiles over their standard model range. As someone said about Kookaburra, all their bats look the same!

Oh, and an exact copy of a Purist....I've seen one on eBay I can't afford and, for this week at least, it's the best profile in the world!  ;)

Why my go to a forum sponsor like H4L, Red Ink, James Laver or Safbats etc.. with your exact requirements and get them to make exactly what you want for a lot less £'s than one of the big boy brands

How is that Midas of yours going? If I'm honest, I think that profile and the purist are relatively similar, although I think I prefer the Midas! :P

It's going beautifully and you're right, it is very close in shape to a Purist. Sort of a cross between a Purist and a Mjolnir. Maybe the best of both worlds....?

Honestly, I forgot I had it...... :-[ Played so little in recent weeks because of weather my brain is going odd...!
