Talisman Perfect Storm
« on: September 05, 2012, 11:26:27 AM »

Bought this beauty off another forum member (Scott - scottish_slogger95) and picked it up yesterday. Is an absolute ripper - feels nice in the hands taps up incredibly well. Saw some conjecture as to whether this was TK made or not, but from what I've seen I would say that I'm 95% sure it has been made by him. Similar in shape and style to my Blenheim (which I am sure is also made by TK, but don't quote me on that).

Weighs bang on 2lb9.5oz's with a nice pick up. 36/37mm edges and has 9/10 relatively straight grains.

Happened to take the grip off tonight and noticed some writing at the bottom of the twine. Scott said that Mike said (lol) it was meant for a Somerset player in his post (didn't factor into whether I bought it or not) but looks like it was - Christopher Jones. So a nice little extra there.

I'd imagine so, as the grip and stickers would add around 2oz's or so.

Like I said, it looks very similar to my Blenheim which is definitely made in the UK and I think could be made by TK too (don't quote me on that though). Looks a similar style and shape to the Blenheim, hence why I believe it is also a TK made bat (assuming the Blenheim is too).

Both the Blenheim and the Talisman PS have round handles and the same sort of shape (only difference is the colour of the rubber in the handle), but both of  them don't have any marks on the shoulders.

It is a cracker. I have my grip preference so just took the other grip off and I saw it.

Only the one grip, but I just like the half moon grips - I just have to have them, so it's more of a superstition really.

Pretty sure they are not TK made, pressed and cnc'd by TK yes.

They are made by a long lost apprentice of John Newbery.

Guys - please could we have no more speculation about where these bats are made.
I am sure that majority were made by who you all suspect. Anything more is really speculation as Mr B is not here to confirm.
Let's just enjoy the nice profile and soak in the feeling of the awesome response this bat has.

I will try not to be resentful of the fact that I have too many bats already and therefore couldn't add this lush bat to my collection!  :(
