Gloves would be from Meulemans over in WA. The XXX range is exclusive to them.

Correct. Link is below:

http://www.meulemans.com.au/d995/xxx-vi-hand-crafted

Next bat will most likely be an XXX, lots of guys at my club have them and they are very nice indeed.

Hahaha KP they could probably do with a clean up, will send them down to Meulemans for a sand and a new sheet!

GN gear on that site is so so nice
why do they only have that available there? and in Aus
sure it would be very popular over here

GN Aus and GN UK are kept as two separate markets, not entirely sure why, but It's a case of grass is always greener on the other side. We've sent a number of UK Grays bats over to Australia recently.

I also recently knocked in an Australian Legend that a regular customer of mine bought and had shipped over.

You are right. I spent a season in England as an overseas player in 2004 and was amazed at the choice of gear you guys had, particularly with all the smaller, boutique brands. Even just local to where I was up in West Yorkshire, there was a guy down the road who made bats, Barronette I think they were called, and they were sublime. Over here it's very much the big brands, plus a couple of local ones and that's about it.

However, it looks as if Kookaburra have given us a shipment of their 2013 UK range early, one guy at the club has the Kooka Menace, which aside from the decals is a lovely bit of willow. Maybe there will be more UK/AUS cross-sell in the future...

I'm currently after an Aus Legend at the moment, and can't understand why they don't sell both ranges in both Australia and UK. Surely more variety = more sales. And on that note are any UK retailers able to source an Aus GN Legend?

In England I played for Cullingworth CC, Craven and District League. Would love to go back now, had a fairly mediocre season there (500-odd runs at about 25) but I was only 21 at the time. Now I'd fancy myself doing a fair bit better if I got a 2nd chance, but don't think that will ever happen again due to work..,  :(

It's to protect retailers more than anything I think. Too many bats dilutes the range. if their range had about 12 different types it would mean I could afford to only stock say 1 of each type of bat in an LE, giving very little choice to customers who want to pick things up and feel them.

It also protects retailers from people who want the latest gear ASAP. Due to the English and Australian seasons launching at different times.

At least by having separate ranges in separate territories, it discourages the early buying.

And no, other than buying from an Australian retailer, there's no way I could get hold of an Aus Legend.

Lovely kit Over Gully.

GN XXX Hand Crafted gloves look fantastic, could you briefly go over them?

Many thanks

No worries!! I basically went for the XXX gloves over the new Legend gloves as they were a good $30 cheaper and I didn't see any difference in quality. Good quality sheepskin palms, they have the one piece sausage fingers for the bottom two fingers for greater protection and 'shark tooth' split-fingered design on the ring and little fingers. For me I found I needed a few net sessions just to break them in slightly, but now they are easily the #1 gloves in my kit. I'm really into the all-white styling, which is also the same for the XXX pads I recently bought.

Here are some more photos for a closer look!
