Jap bats

played against someone yesterday with Jap bat. Anyone know anything about these? Interestingly, the name of the bat was 'blaster', which made it a 'Jap Blaster"

Was jap the name of the brand, or is it jap as in Japanese? Because that would be inappropriate...
