Just on the cracking topic, my outside edge has received a right battering and has cracked onto the face, but the inside edge is fine:-

That said it's done a decent job of protecting the face during winter nets, better than many I've used. I'm going to leave it on for the season and get GM to refurb the bat in the autumn, including taking the sheet off  :)

Normally I put fibreglass tape on the edges to stop this from happening! Nothing bugs me more than a cracking scuff!  >:(

mines been doing this, looks a right mess, gonna trim all the scuff off round the edge of the bat, then just replace it with tape

Think I will trim the sheets to bat width in future to save from cracking. Afterall you don't need performance enhancing on the edges anyway !!

Definitely not mate, my edges go well enough for the ball to carry to slip without enhancing the performance ;)

Haha yes, perhaps that is the next product to look into......a scuff sheet edges that stops the ball carrying to the slips !!

Can those who’ve used these recently please post your results? Concerned that if they crack like shown in Chads pics then perhaps hammer edge would be a better alternative.

as per my pics above, the outside edge got a battering. The inside edge was fine. Funny enough on another bat I found plenty of damage in the same area, using a hammer edge scuff. Difference between the two bats is the scuff type and I suspect this scuff it a little too rigid on the edges. However, I also don't think a Hammer Edge would protect your bat any better, it just doesn't crack on the scuff, but on the bat itself. As Kieron suggests, a face only sheet would solve this problem and I found little or no damage to the bat on the face. Performance wise, the bat went well with it on but now I've taken it off I'll have a clearer idea when I next use it.

Sold out of these at the moment. Next batch will be bat width to eliminate the edge cracking problem.

Agree - I think if like the hammer edge these could be cut to the width of the bat with edge tape it may work better.

Kieron did you get my message?
