GM vs Slazenger Vs Something else...
« on: September 14, 2012, 09:09:20 AM »

Morning all - it is sale time - I see that the GM LE pads are £70 in the sale (do you think they will get cheaper??) and also the rave reviews about the slazenger stash...

the question is
1 - shall I pick up the GM pads in the sale and keep on with my GM gloves
2 - Should I trade in the GM kit I have and pick up the new slazenger stash
3 - should I wait and see what other offers there are
4 - should I make do with the Stig's cast offs, as usual and hope he gets another new sponsor this year...

hhummm all help noted
Thanks

Stigs cast offs, means you don't have to spend any money what so ever :) haha!

Slaz kit does look lovely though!

Realistically it's better to wait, prices won't change and neither will the products for the start of the season.

Also with a lot of brands bringing out new products, you may like something else you see once you have already made your purchase.

can never fault Puma pads. Lightweight with plenty of protection at a reasonable price. The 2 strap Puma Kinetic 5000 - £40.

The one thing I have learned in my cricket kit buying life is never commit too early! As soon as you buy something you'll always see something you would have preferred instead! Much better to leave it a while...... :D

but how long... I have cash burning a hole in my pay pal account... ;)

on a more serious note, one concern I have is that I like having two pairs of matching gloves together with the pads - with the GM it only means I would buy the new pads.

Anything else means a bigger outlay...

P.S. I much prefer traditional kit to modern stuff, which rules out the two strap pads.

At least wait until AFTER the Lords show!! :D

If you commit now you'll regret it!

It's gonna be really difficult to wait till new ranges come out. I think all of us knows the feeling when kit fever has struck and the only real cure is to buy something! ;)
Sensible choice would be to go for the GM stuff Buzz. U'd have the pads and 2 sets of gloves...... But......
Slazenger stuff does look very good though, best softs range that I've seen thus far from the big brands!
Try something different and go Slaz.

Slaz pads are always classy looking and thankfully lacking in grey.
