Swimming has allways helped with my back pain

This
I find if I go swimming the day after any workout/match/anything strenuous, it helps to loosen up my back/legs/arms anything that aches.
My knees are absolutely wrecked from the amount of abuse they've had over the years from skiing/snowboarding/cricket/rugby, so i find swimming to be the best exercise for getting them feeling better.  I also find swimming to be the best cardio for me, because it works everything too

I could very well just have a bad back, and come from a family of shearers and runs in the family!
Swimming could be something to look into, although I do not own a pool...
I do enjoy swimming and it does feel good after, its just the nearest pool is a few kms away..

Gonna have to get some rich friends!

My nearest pool is about a mile away, so I usually cycle there, swim a mile, then cycle back.  Great cardio workout, and not too taxing on the joints

I do enjoy a ride to.. Unfortunately my closest pool is about 30 km away! So would be one heck of a work out :D

Check your local gym/some schools offer pool use to the public, 30kk is pretty far away considering its just a pool? Doesn't your school have a pool?

I'm from country Australia so everything is pretty far from us! And facilities aren't great so no pool at school.

Haha that's the thing mate, we're surrounded but then there's still all the land in the middle!

I live about an hour and a half from the ocean, and again about 30 km from a gym... But will definitely try some of the things suggested on here.
Anyone feel free to add your two cents worth though if you have any suggestions.

Haha if he is from a family of shearers, chances are  he is nowhere near a coast!

where you from Toby? Number 4 and I are from Newcastle.

If you are 16 now, give it two years before your invincibility kicks in. After that, you will be fine!

Focus on keeping your head upright and inline with your shoulder closest to the bowler.
I am in the same situation and adapted my game to bending of the knees and head on shoulder.

Got that right! Haha South West Western Australia mate. Ahh good to know there's a few Aussies on here.

2 years to invincibility you reckon? Coincidentally around the time I'm allowed to drink? ;)

Good bit of advice from SelectCricket, thanks mate.

Bulldog nailed it - core strength. I get a sore back when I bat too, bu not when I bowl. It's my lower back and it usually kicks in after abbot 10 mins. Basically put it down to not having a strong enough set of core muscles. Should be able to find ome exercises on the net that you can do at home.

Good to see another West Aussie here :)

I have this problem too, for me it occurs when I'm batting in nets (indoor) or against bowling machine.

I think I will ask Pakistan Cricket Team fitness trainer, Saboor Ahmad, to send me a batsman fitness regime, I think it would be helpful for all of us perhaps? Should I ask and share with you guys?

I particularly notice it when I am facing the bowling machine...

That would be brilliant if you could share CD, I'm sure it would help many of us here!
