SG Test Gloves
« on: October 12, 2012, 09:05:13 PM »

I have always struggled to find the right fitting gloves as I am inbetween youth UK size and boys size. I saw that onlinestockist had a junior section now and got in touch with Ajit. I was aware of the negative feedback he had but nevertheless bought it. I first mailed him to check if it was in stock before ordering. Ajit replied promptly to emails. I ordered it last Sunday and the gloves arrived this afternoon. I consider that as a pretty good turnaround time considering it came from India. He also threw in a pair of inner gloves which I thought was a good touch. The SG test range used to be the top end gloves about 10 years ago and have since been overtaken by dazzler , hilite range. The protection is more than decent but not as good as SS Test gloves. These gloves would be comparable to the Kookaburra 800 gloves in my view. The leather is supple and has a texture on it. The hardwearing areas have Pittard like patches on them. Overall a good quality glove for the price.

Look really nice gloves! And it's nice to see someone having a good experience with someone who's got bad feedback in the past

Looks lovely, I have been in love with these softs for a while.

I'm sure SG Test softs are top of the line, no ? Couple of pros have used them.

Can you tell me which ones are absolute top of the lines ? I never seem to under SG ranges :S

There is the VS319 ultimate , Hilite and Dazzler above the Test range. The test range used to be the very best amongst Indian softs and it had a leather strap/ thin band back then and was used by Dravid. With every SG product you bought back then there was a little leaflet of their product range. I would go through it over and over again  :).

Spent good 15 minutes comparing side by side, whilst Hilite is top of the line (as most expensive) I don't see big of difference in terms of protection lol.
