Shop around for the best price, definitely go and see it if you can. Some of the big brands grading this season has been a bit confusing to say the least so I wouldn't buy one without seeing it first. Good bats...I like GN, they're just a bit expensive for what they are though.

cue...............'buy a bat from a forum sponsor' posts... :D

I have seen this bat - it is beautiful.
Severely tested my resolve - it came down to the GN handles of which I don't like the feel.

I've had 3 GN custom Oblivion LE's in the last 2 years. One was amazing and the other two were solid bats.

The problem i had with them was, that 2 of them split rather badly, one split in half straight up through the middle of the face, from toe to splice. The other split across the back of all things. Only got about 6months out of each of the first two so gave up with the third as was fed up of knocking them in  >:(.

But they do have a lovely feel to them and cracking middle IMO  :)

Lessey, did you get GN to replace the broken bats for you? There's usually a 1 year warranty period.

Yeah GN did replace them for me free of charge which was good.

However, the first bat I had was awesome, the next one not as good, and the third one was still a solid bar but not the performance you'd expect from an LE so I felt a little bit let down in that respect but I guess that's the luck of the draw

Thanks for the opinions fellas. I'm in the states and looking at getting it from cricketstoreonline. Its on sale for $280.99 (down from $450). Since I can't see it in person, thought I would see what the others members had to say about it.

About the weak handles, is it across all the different gray-nicolls models or just a particular batch?
