Msr bats
« on: October 21, 2012, 02:00:14 PM »

I understand that there topic has been frozen and can understand why

I have bought 3 of there bats 2 I sold without using Both are going strong my mate scored 700 runs with his this season and will be using it next season

For a budget you can't really go wrong I do not think and I know they supply other brands in the uk

My other bat is still here with my a big 2lb 6oz thing which has been do caved but with big edges

I have no issue with msr I think they have there place in the industry and the cost of there product is

They are very astute at answering emails and seem to be decent set up

At the prices at which these bats are sold I think it's definitely worth a go if you're on a budget (like me) prices are similar to that of a low grade gray nicolls for example.

It's because they have to abide by the rules that every-one else does, and either have 50 posts or be a forum sponsor to advertise or sell.

I've seen some of their stuff on eBay and every now and again think "ooh, a grainy beast, yay" but then think of their reputation and decide against.  I guess it comes down to whether they really deserved that reputation or not...

How can they sell the bats so cheap?

Canadian willow? ;)

Because they buy in bulk and most know the cost of willow and a handle and there overheads must be minimal

Good for you mate, your products seem to split opinion on here, would be good to hear what you've got to say. For me, to improve the image of your product, update your website! Doesn't do you any favours in my opinion, for what that is worth.

I agree with Nick about the site, but also I'm not a fan of the stickers at all, and that really puts me off big time personally.
A simple redesign could work wonders IMO, and MSR is a name that would stick in your head for sure, hopefully for right reasons instead of the bad ones we hear sometimes!

I think if MSR are a serious company, and by the sounds of what I've read recently they are, the forum could give them a lot of input and the brand will move forward.
I do like the look of a few pairs of the gloves on the website too, but the big MSR in white with a huge shiney red background puts me off lol.

As you all know I'm a recovered bat-a-holic, and I'm not a glove-a-holic!

I suspect msr do alright with selling bats I guess they might out sell most on here through ebay and what not and maybe they supply uk brands on the hush hush quite a bit

Dave

I think adding msr will be refreshing and I hope they keep there price points as there very competitive indeed

Don't get me wrong Dave I can see that there doing well on eBay selling bats as they are!
Personally wouldn't be a stick off them that's stickered as I think there horrendous, and the stickers that were on my friends were poor quality (may have changed now before I get corrected)
I also thing that it will be good for a brand like MSR to come on here and express everything they want to and explain what they want to achieve with providing kit!
