Posting Bats
« on: May 27, 2009, 01:46:10 PM »

Not to sure where to put this so Admin move if not in the correct section.

I have never posted a bat to someone else before and need some advice on  how to do it.

Where do you get your boxes from?
What should you wrap the bat in?
Where do you bring it to to post?

And any more advice when posting, fire away please.

Regards
Adam

1) Not sure about boxes, I just use ones people have sent bats to me in.
2) Wrap the bat in  bubble wrap or if not avaliable use kitchen roll or something, scrunch up kitchen roll/paper and put in box to cushion bat.
3) Take to your local post office.

Think I've got a box in the garage from bats that Tom sent me. Would a 1/2 bat cover do?

Would not bother with the post office as they wont allow you to post via first class recorded so it now costs over £10.00. I use courier off ebay who picks the item up from your home or work and delivers it next day via dhl for around £7.

I use UPS, they usually turn up within 15 minutes of booking and it's £8 upto 30 odd KG. Via www.interparcel.com

Boxes I buy them as golf club boxes from a company called R-Madillo Packaging. They're around £26 for 25 boxes.

Saw the boxes on ebay there Tom but no point me buying them as I'm only posting one bat. And infact I just found the box you sent me months ago :)

I'll take a look at UPS and see if they cater for Northern Ireland. Cheers Tom

A matter of fact, how do you get in contact with UPS Tom? And roughly, how much would a cricket bat weigh in a box with a bat case?

parcel2go.com are good, £7.50 something,
bat, cover and box will probably weigh just under the 2kg mark.

It's through the Interparcel site, you book it through there. 2kgs is the rough weight of a bat.

Just realised that the box is now gone :( Its been sitting in my garage for months now without being touched then the day I need it, I go down to see that my dad took it to the dump :(

Where can I get a new box quickly without ebay or online?
