That Chris Gayle is some lad
« on: November 13, 2012, 08:59:58 PM »

First ball in a test match and the first ball in test cricket for the young off spinner. Welcome to Mr Gayle:-

First time ever the first ball has gone for six in a test match. That said, giving a tweaker the first ball to Chris Gayle was asking for it!

Ha quite a way to say welcome to test cricket    :D

Think this bowler got him out early on though as well, so he probably doesn't mind that first one at all.

Thats awesome!

However I completed this feat in a 1st XI match in 2011, cutting/top edging the bowler for 6 over point first ball of the game!

I believe the great Herbert Sutcliffe once hooked the first ball of a first class match for six.

I well remember a game where our skip told our opening 'fireballer' to 'keep it tight'. He opened up with a pretty quick bouncer as a loosener, only to see it clouted over the roof of a nearby pub.  :o

Kinda sums Gayle up that knock.

What? Apart from the triple centuries, 7 T20 centuries and all other centuries he's scored?
