New Bat Advice
« on: November 16, 2012, 07:13:56 AM »

I've used a Gray-Nicolls Evo 5 star for 3 seasons now and to be fair it has been the best bat I've ever had, but like all things it's getting old. I've had it referbed twice but I'm looking to get something new for next season and was wondering what you guys would recommend.
I like a light bat with a mid sweetspot and quite a traditional shape with a slight bow.
I was wondering whether to go 'off the shelf' with something like a GM Halo or a GN Maverick or to go down the custom made route?
I am looking to spend around £125-£175
Any advice you guys have to offer would be gratefully recieved.

See if blank bats have any signature models in that price range. Its Based on the scat 1 series.

good time to buy  :D

Have a look around the forum, plenty of sponsor deals and good bats in the sale section. Can you be a little more specific on your requirements (ie. finished weight, profile similar to any bats you've seen, grade of wood, handle type). Do you want something custom made or off the shelf, do you want to visit the batmaker/retailer and test some bats out?  It might help to narrow down the options a bit!
