Your Keeping kit for 2013
« on: November 16, 2012, 01:35:02 PM »

Right then chaps,

There are a few keepers amongst us willow lovers, what kit are you looking at using for the next season? Been flicking between my Wymers and Kook Silvers from a couple of years ago, but looking at something new. Possibly Puma or this years GN Legends. I like the Puma Pulse that Wade and Kieswetter have been using but apparently not going to be available here, and Puma have not released their new range yet as far as I know

What do we think then?

I'm using the Newbery pads that go under the trousers and am still undecided on what gloves to get

Again thinking newbery, GM or GN

Any suggestions?!

Probably swap between my existing Blenheim pads and Puma Calibre Tricks 5000 depending on my mood. Some life still in Blenheim gloves too and barely used pair of Ayrteks to break in so probably don't need any new. Having said that I am keen to have a look at the new GN gloves.

i've just got the newbery pads that go under your trousers as well seem to be very comfortable and got a pair of new GN legend 2012  that need braking in. i was gunna get the 2013 pair but didn't really like the look of the hypertac grip on the parms, thought i would keep it traditional with the octopus grip

Salix pod one gloves and pads for me. Got them last year and they are just about broken in I reckon. Plus don't really like the look of any of the new 2013 range of keeping gear I'm afraid.

Very tempted to go Puma this year myself, just waiting for their range to come out. The new Kook stuff looks shocking

This may be a stupid question but does anyone know why chamois inners are so popular? I've always gone for cotton since (a) you can put them in a washing machine and (b) they're cheaper. I've tried the leather ones in the past and never noticed much of a difference in terms of the feel of the ball through the gloves.

i find cotton 1's to thick and the chamois 1's obv u soak in water to make them supple and they feel just right for me so av allways used them
